"Fly Gansu" badminton team enthusiastically fights in the "Nostalgia Cup"

The Gansu Community Association of Canada and the Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce jointly formed the "Fly Gansu" badminton team. This is the first time for the Gansu organizations to participate. The lineup is strong and the costumes are beautiful. Throughout the game, "Fly Gansu" team was full of vitality and showed their strength.

As early as the beginning of June, Jianqiang Zhu, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, learned that the Gansu Community Association of Canada and the Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce had teamed up for the competition, and said happily to everyone: You are responsible for forming the team and I will sponsor the team uniforms. Play with the momentum and style of our Gansu "Flying" team! The usual general demeanor, everyone is happy.

Chamber of Commerce President Zhaoan Sui, Vice President Xiaoning Wang, Secretary-General Hui Zhao, and Chief Financial Officer Xiaochun Guo had an overnight conference call to discuss the design and production of team uniforms. Professional designer Jing Zhang once designed logos for the Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Gansu Community Association of Canada, which are beautiful and fitting.

This time, Jing Zhang's team uniform design, "Fly Gansu", chose a font that is elegant and dynamic, highlighting the calm power of Gansu people. Everyone likes it very much. In September, everyone wore team uniforms for training. Both inside and outside the stadium were silently reading "Fly Gansu" on the team uniforms, imagining the "Flying" story and magic in the far northwestern land of "Gansu".

The opening ceremony of the tournament was held at 8:30 am on October 12th. Ms. Lan Ma, chairwoman of the Shaanxi Association of Canada, and Mr. Yuanpeng Zhao, director of the Sports Department of the Association of Hometowns in Canada, presided over. Mr. Baohua Yang, Consul of Overseas Chinese Affairs of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, Mr. Vicent Ke, Member of Ontario Provincial Parliament, and Mr. Jiang Zhu, President of the Association of Chinese Canadians, delivered congratulations. Mr. Ke made a speech and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Zhaoan Sui for supporting community activities over the years. Mr. Jiang Zhu happily shook hands with his old friends on stage.

At 9:30 am, the whistle was blown to start the game. The day was the group A round robin. In the morning, the second team of "Fly Gansu" participated in the competition. Most of the players are participating for the first time and have no game experience. When they first played, the players were a little excited and nervous. Various moves, tricks come out one after another. The cheerleaders were happy to watch.

After a few rounds, they became familiar with the venue and opponents, and the players gradually improved. Competently challenged and used all his best. Mr. Yuming Chen returned to Toronto from China on the 11th and participated early the next morning. During the game, the whole team ran, and the movements were elegant, no sight of the fatigues of jet lag.

At about 12 noon, the second team finished the game with good results. The Chamber of Commerce has already arranged lunch. Take a break after lunch and prepare for the afternoon game.

At 2 pm, the first team game began. All the team members are great players. Every game is exciting, every back and forth is breathtaking.

The men's doubles battle is fierce. The game was back and forth, with many cheers after scoring, rising tension after misses.

The last match of "Fly Gansu" was against the powerful "Shandong Qilu" team. "Gemini" partner Jun Cai and Yuhong Wang played. Both sides fought valiantly, our side finally counterattacked and defeated the opponent. Everyone gave their thumbs up. Jun Cai and Yuhong Wang both responded humbly: a narrow victory, a narrow victory.

On October 14, the organizing committee of the "Nostalgia Cup Badminton Championships" held a celebration banquet in the "WeFusion Grill & Music Bar". The team members gathered together and laughed again and again. The Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce won the Best Organization Award, and the "Fly Gansu" badminton team won the Excellent Organization Award. Everyone applauded happily.
