In the early spring of 2020, it was surprisingly bitter cold. I vaguely heard the north wind scream and saw snow fall. After a while, one by one, blowing over Xuanyuan Terrace, falling in the hearts of Gansu people in Toronto.

As much as thunder on the ground! The new type of coronavirus pneumonia, from a remote medical term to the sudden lockdown of Wuhan City. The number of infections is rising day by day, and the map of China gradually turns red. The virus spread all over the world.

While Toronto is temporarily safe, the people of Chinese background here are also heartfelt, anxious, and worrying day and night. They pay attention to the development of the pandemic and worry about the safety of their relatives.
The most painful moment of mankind is also the most precious moment. Mankind awakens infinite power and deepest love. Not afraid, and never give up.
The landscape saves the common people. Medical elites from all over the country went to Wuhan. Dressed in white, they gave up their own safety to keep the city safe.

Leaving at dawn.

In a battlefield without gunpowder, there is an endless contest with death. The blessings from loved ones filled the air.

Yinghua, return safely!

Speechless, Binbin, don't dream of cold tonight.
The battle continues. The situation is getting worse. On February 4th, Gansu people in Toronto heard the call of their hometown. The urgent needed medical supplies continue to be in short supply in Gansu Province. The Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in Gansu Province and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Gansu Province advocate that overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese actively donate to help ones home.
It is incumbent to support the homeland. Zhaoan Sui, President of Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce, Xiaoning Wang, Vice President, Hui Zhao, Secretary, Xiaochun Guo, Chief Financial Officer, etc., had an emergency conference call. It was decided to work with the Gansu Community Association of Canada and the Alumni Association of Lanzhou University in Toronto to raise funds for the hometown. Hui Zhao drafted the proposal overnight, and the love filled the lines.
Zhaoan Sui, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, and Kaihong Liu, the vice chairman, were both fellow native of Jinchang. They have donated money for the epidemic several times. Other members of the chamber of commerce such as Jingwen Wang, Jiaqing Zhu, Anita, Selina, Spring, Ruozi, Susan, and Betty have also repeatedly donated to support the affected areas. Junchang Yang, Qin Huang, Botao Jiang, Frank, Duo Mei, Jilu Li, Wei Jiang, Wei Lu, Xingwei Ma, Wenjiang Zhai, Shiming Wen, Yaoping Lei, Huainan Xu, Qiang Gao, Hongwei Zhang, Jie Bai, Zhiqiang Li, Rong Liu, Pei Cao, Yaming, Ellen, National Treasure Lanzhou Beef Noodles, Celin, Tom, Jinkui, Qingchengzi, Chuang Qin, Qinggao, Zhu Coco, Echo and other fellow Gansu natives, Lanzhou University alumni Peng Yuan, Lin Zhang, Shijin Mu, Shiliang Jin, Deqiang Wang, Catherine and others expressed their humble wish: do their best to end the epidemic as soon as possible. There are also some enthusiastic fellows who left a message saying: Not much money, a little heart, don't write names.
The members of the anti-epidemic team in the township are raising funds and looking for sources of goods. Even mobilize relatives and friends in the United States and Europe. Everyone said: "This is not a 'buy', but a race against time.
Just two days. On February 6, the anti-epidemic team made every effort to buy 25 boxes of urgently needed medical supplies, including N95 masks, shoe covers, medical gloves, latex gloves, etc., and successfully handed over to AWOT logistics and freight.

Looking at these smiling faces, there are so many touching stories behind them.
Junchang Yang, the president of the Gansu Community Association of Canada, wakes up in the morning and queues up to buy supplies. After moving the supplies into the office, he sits on a stool to catch his breath. In the blink of an eye, he fell asleep.
Xiaoning Wang, the vice president, inquired from all directions and ran around. Walk slowly and hard. At first glance, the painful foot was swollen again. Secretary Hui Zhao communicates with fellow Gansu natives all the time, and can hardly sleep day and night. Its clear that she lost weight after the past few days.
The old mother Zhaoan Sui, president of the Chamber of Commerce, called from Jinchang's hometown: My daughter-in-law Binbin signed up and led a team to support Hubei. The three frail elderly people and their 12-year-old daughter are all on the shoulders of their younger son Zhaoquan. Worrying. Zhaoan Sui's eyes were moist.
Jordanian friend Mohammed Alakhras, when he heard colleague Peng Yuan coming to help Gansu mail the purchased emergency medical supplies, he collected all the cash in his pocket, totaling $80, and held it to Peng in both hands.

On February 13, these materials arrived in Tianjin from Toronto via Incheon, South Korea. On the 14th, Tianjin Customs approved the release, and then SF Express shipped it to Lanzhou Airport Customs. On the 17th, the goods arrived at the Gansu Red Cross warehouse. The Red Cross immediately contacted the Gansu Drug Administration to check medical supplies. On the 18th, the Provincial Federation of Overseas Chinese and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office coordinated the First Hospital of Lanzhou University to pick up the goods at the airport. As of now, the donated supplies have successfully reached the First Hospital of Lanzhou University.
In mid-February, urgent domestic need of medical supplies were alleviated. After careful discussion and consideration, the anti-pandemic aid team decided to change the donation method, from purchasing medical supplies to donating cash. We carefully studied the designated hospitals for the treatment of new coronary pneumonia in Gansu, and chose Lanzhou Pulmonary Hospital, Minqin County People's Hospital and Huining County People's Hospital. The Provincial Foreign Affairs Office has been entrusted to complete the transfer.
The Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese from Gansu Province and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Gansu Province sent letters of appreciation to the Canada Gansu Federation of Chamber of Commerce, the Gansu Community Association of Canada, and the Alumni Association of Lanzhou University in Toronto. The letter said: The love of compatriots in Canada has finally reached the first-line destination today after traveling through thousands of mountains and rivers. We will always remember the good deeds of overseas Chinese friends. Gansu Governor Renjian Tang instructed, please convey the provincial government’s gratitude to you all for your kindness.

Dear ones, let us clasp our hands, hug affectionately, and warm each other. Through the cold winter, wait until the snow melts in the spring, and watch the rape blossoms over the mountains and plains on Longshang.
